Who publishes this resource
The US Childcare & Preschool Rankings are published by Creative Minds Montessori, a licensed early-childhood school located at 5115 Warren Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75034, serving children from six weeks through kindergarten. We are real educators who run a real, state-licensed childcare facility — not an anonymous directory site or a lead-generation company.
That matters for two reasons. First, we know this industry from the inside: what quality infant care actually looks like, what teacher turnover does to a classroom, and what state inspectors check for. Second, it creates a conflict of interest that you deserve to know about — see our disclosure below.
Why we built it
Finding childcare is one of the most consequential decisions a family makes, and one of the worst-served by the information available. Every center's website looks warm and welcoming. Star ratings can be sparse, stale, or gamed. Licensing databases are public but nearly unreadable. Parents end up piecing together social-media threads, secondhand recommendations, and gut feel.
We built this resource to do the tedious part once, properly: aggregate what parents have actually said across many platforms, cross-reference it against official state licensing records, and organize it so a family can shortlist three centers worth visiting instead of guessing among thirty.
Where the data comes from
Every ranked center is a state-licensed childcare center. We draw on two kinds of sources:
- Public parent feedback — reviews and discussion across major publicly available consumer-review platforms, childcare directories, employee-review platforms, and parent community forums. Employee-review platforms are included because how a center treats its teachers strongly predicts how stable and warm its classrooms are.
- Official state licensing records — license status, capacity, inspection and compliance history from each state's regulator: the Texas HHSC, the Ohio ODJFS / Department of Children and Youth, the California DSS Community Care Licensing Division, the Florida Department of Children and Families, and the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education.
We do not use private data, we do not survey centers, and centers cannot submit or edit their own profiles.
How the scores are made
Each center is scored 0–10 on eleven dimensions. A score of 0 means we found no evidence for that dimension — not that the center failed it; a center with no infant program simply has no infant-care score.
The overall score is the average of the dimensions where evidence exists. Rankings within a city order centers by that average. The full scoring rubric, source weighting, and the honest limits of what these scores can and cannot tell you are documented on the Methodology & Approach page.
These scores are editorial opinion, not measurements. They synthesize what the public record says about each center. They are not government ratings, not inspections, and never a substitute for visiting a center yourself.
How we do the research
A resource covering more than fourteen thousand licensed centers across five states requires research at scale. We use modern research technology to gather, cross-reference, and summarize publicly available information, operating under editorial rules we set — and its output does not go straight to the page.
Our process includes independent verification passes in which claims are re-checked against the underlying sources, consistency checks (for example, flagging a claimed program that a center’s own materials contradict), and editorial review with spot-checks against live sources. When any pass finds an error, we correct the record — and where a claim cannot be verified, our standing rule is to omit it rather than publish it.
No research process is perfect, and ours is no exception. That is why the correction process below exists, and why we treat it as part of the editorial process rather than an afterthought.
Editorial independence
- No center paid to appear. Every center is listed because it holds an active state license — nothing else.
- No center can pay to improve its score, its rank, or its write-up. There is no paid tier, no featured placement, and no advertising relationship with any ranked center.
- Award badges are earned, not sold. Recognition of Excellence badges follow mechanically from the scores; centers may display them at no cost, and displaying one has no effect on future scoring.
- Removal requests do not buy silence. We correct factual errors (see below), but a center cannot pay or pressure its way out of an unfavorable — accurate — ranking.
Conflict-of-interest disclosure
Creative Minds Montessori is itself a licensed childcare provider in Frisco, Texas, and appears as a ranked center on the relevant city pages. We publish rankings in a market where we compete. You should know that, and you should judge our handling of it: our own facility is scored by the same methodology, from the same public sources, as every other center — and this disclosure appears not just here but in the legal notice on the ranking pages themselves.
Corrections & removal requests
We are committed to accuracy and to correcting material errors promptly. If you are a childcare provider, a parent, or any interested party and you believe specific factual content on this site is wrong, tell us:

Email: director@creativemindsfrisco.com
To help us resolve your request quickly, include the specific URL(s) and content at issue, a clear description of what you believe is inaccurate, and — where possible — documentation supporting the correction. The full correction procedure, including what happens after you write to us, is described in the Legal Disclaimer & Terms of Use.
Data currency & updates
Scores and rankings reflect research conducted through July 2026. Reviews accumulate and centers change — directors leave, programs open and close, licenses change status. We treat this as a living resource and refresh the underlying research periodically; each page carries its own last-modified date in its metadata. Between refreshes, always verify a center's current license status directly with the state agency linked above before making any enrollment decision.
What this resource is not
It is not professional childcare, legal, or safety advice; it is not a government rating; and it is not a substitute for touring a center, meeting its director and teachers, and reviewing its licensing record yourself. The rankings are a researched starting point — the decision is, and should be, yours. The complete terms are in the Legal Disclaimer.
