This is a school-age before/after school care program operated by the YMCA of Central Stark County with a Gold rating on Ohio Step Up To Quality. The center serves kindergarten through sixth grade students at Southway Elementary within Perry Local School District, opening as early as 6:30 AM and staying open until 6:00 PM. The YMCA's focus on confidence-building, life skills, and outdoor play is complemented by concrete programming including homework help, arts and crafts, sports, and games. Financial assistance and Ohio DJFS child care subsidies are accepted. The main limitation is that this program serves school-age children only—it has no capacity for infants or preschoolers.
