Ohio Childcare
Rankings 2026

Known as the Buckeye State for the native buckeye tree that once covered its hills and became the symbol of Ohio's identity and the state's renowned college football tradition, Ohio rose to prominence in the 19th century as an industrial powerhouse—ranking as the nation's steel capital and home to major rubber, glass, and automotive manufacturing centers. Ohio's political influence runs equally deep: the state earned the title "Mother of Presidents" by producing seven U.S. presidents, with seven of ten presidents elected between 1868 and 1920 hailing from Ohio, making it a microcosm of the nation and a true maker of leaders. Independent rankings for every Ohio-licensed childcare center, scored across 11 real dimensions — safety, curriculum, teacher quality, infant care, and more — based entirely on real parent reviews.

How We Rank Childcare Centers

Every center is scored independently across 11 dimensions drawn entirely from real parent reviews on major public review platforms — no surveys, no paid placements, no self-reported data. We cross-reference Ohio ODJFS / Department of Children and Youth (DCY) licensing records for each center.

Each dimension is scored 1–10. An overall score is computed as a weighted average. Cities are ranked by the concentration of high-scoring centers.
