Dublin Latchkey — Riverside is a non-profit after-school program serving school-age children at Riverside Elementary School in the Dublin City School District, operating continuously since 1984. With 97% of surveyed parents rating the program as good to excellent, the center offers enrichment activities spanning STEM, robotics, cooking, art, and cultural celebrations, along with homework support and daily snacks. The program emphasizes social-emotional learning through themed lessons, guest speakers, and community service projects. As a school-age-only program not yet enrolled in the state quality rating system (SUTQ), it complements rather than replaces full-day childcare and preschool services, and accepts PFCC subsidy vouchers for eligible families.
Curriculum & approach: Dublin Latchkey uses a curriculum foundation of STEM and SEL (Social Emotional Learning). The program includes weekly themed lessons in math, science, cultural studies, and cooperative learning, with homework support and reading sessions. Specialized STEM instruction includes robotics, PBS's SciGirls curriculum, and videography.
