Programs & curriculum
Curriculum & approach: Program teaches communication skills and academic success through six main topics: organizational systems (H.O.P.S.), study and test-taking strategies, problem-solving approaches, presentation skills, service learning projects, and financial literacy.
Programs & activities: Weekly mini lessons and STEM activity. Monday-Thursday includes classroom management, educational lessons with STEM components, homework support, and recreational time. Fridays feature STEM projects and earned activities.
What sets it apart: After-school enrichment program (R.E.A.C.H initiative) serving middle school students. Morning session 7:00-8:10 a.m. at Deer Run Elementary; afternoon 3:15-6:00 p.m. at Grizzell. Emphasizes practical skills like binder organization, note-taking, and team communication.
