
Imaginative Beginnings Maumee on Illinois Ave is an award-winning center serving the Maumee area and four surrounding school districts for over 30 years, with Gold-rated Step Up to Quality accreditation. The center provides comprehensive programs from infants (6 weeks) through school-age (12 years), using a play-based, child-centered approach grounded in six core curriculum areas: art, music, movement, language, mathematics, and outdoor play. All instructors maintain current First Aid, CPR, and child abuse recognition certifications, and the center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Extended hours from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays support working families throughout the region.
Curriculum & approach: Six core curriculum areas: Art for communication and creativity expression; Music ignites intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and literacy development; Movement supports cognitive functions; Language focuses on communication and expression; Mathematics develops problem-solving and spatial awareness; Outdoor Play encourages natural exploration.
Programs & activities: Programs for infants, toddlers, preschool (ages 3-6), and school-age children (ages 6-12). Child-centered learning approach with emphasis on play-based discovery.
