California Childcare
Rankings 2026

California's economy spans two defining industries: Silicon Valley, the global center of technology and innovation that transformed the Santa Clara Valley from agricultural orchards into the world's most technologically productive region, and the Central Valley, which produces more than half the nation's vegetables and fruits and supplies families across America. The state earned its official nickname, "The Golden State," from the 1848 gold discovery that sparked a massive migration and shaped California's identity as a land of opportunity and transformation. Independent rankings for every California-licensed childcare center, scored across 11 real dimensions — safety, curriculum, teacher quality, infant care, and more — based entirely on real parent reviews.

How We Rank Childcare Centers

Every center is scored independently across 11 dimensions drawn entirely from real parent reviews on major public review platforms — no surveys, no paid placements, no self-reported data.

Each dimension is scored 1–10. An overall score is computed as a weighted average. Cities are ranked by the concentration of high-scoring centers.
