E.B. White
Recognized in the Creative Minds Montessori 2026 Teacher’s Choice list.
E.B. White is one of roughly one hundred authors whose work was selected by the Montessori-certified teachers at Creative Minds Montessori for the 2026 Teacher’s Choice list — 120 books chosen across four reading stages, from first lap-reads to first chapter books. The selected book was chosen for how precisely it meets children at a real developmental moment. This recognition cannot be bought: no author or publisher paid to appear on our lists, and we take no commission on any book sale.

About E.B. White
E.B. White (1899-1985) wrote for The New Yorker for nearly six decades and revised and expanded William Strunk Jr.'s The Elements of Style. He wrote three novels for children, and Charlotte's Web was named a Newbery Honor book.
In autumn 1949 White watched a spider spin an egg sac in the barn of his farm in Maine. When he had to return to New York for work he cut the sac out with a razor blade, carried it there in a candy box punched with air holes, and weeks later found tiny spiderlings escaping and spinning webs all over his bedroom.
