Big Red Barn
A teacher’s look at why this book belongs in the Page Grabbers stage.

Why it fits Page Grabbers (for young toddlers who treat books as things to do)

What makes it special
Brown's farm day unrolls with the same hypnotic cadence as her Goodnight Moon, but outdoors in the sun. Felicia Bond's golden-lit barnyard makes rural rhythm — work, play, sundown, sleep — feel like the natural order. About Margaret Wise Brown
Margaret Wise Brown (1910–1952) wrote well over 100 children's books, among them Goodnight Moon. She worked at the Bank Street Experimental School in New York City, which promoted an approach to children's literature emphasising the real world and the 'here and now', and it was there that she began writing for children.
She also published under three pen names — Golden MacDonald, Timothy Hay and Juniper Sage, the last for books written with Edith Thacher Hurd.
