Why it fits Page Grabbers (for young toddlers who treat books as things to do)

Lift the flaps to find baby's hands, feet, and belly button. Body-part naming plus peekaboo - two toddler obsessions in one. Chunky flaps built for unskilled little fingers.

What makes it special

Katz turned body-part naming into peekaboo, with flaps standing in for hands over eyes. Her rosy, patterned babies have a paper-doll charm that toddlers find both funny and tender. Self-knowledge starts literally here — eyes, toes, belly button — one satisfying flap at a time.

About Karen Katz

Karen Katz writes and illustrates lift-the-flap board books for babies and toddlers, including Where Is Baby's Belly Button? Before making books she worked as a costume designer, quilt maker, fabric artist and graphic designer, and she draws on folk art from around the world.

Her first book, Over the Moon, came out of adopting her daughter Lena from Guatemala — in her words, 'the story of that magical experience of welcoming our daughter Lena into our lives.'
