About Gail Gibbons
Gail Gibbons has written and illustrated more than 170 nonfiction picture books — on everything from frogs to fire trucks — making her arguably the most prolific explainer in American children's publishing. Teachers build whole units around her clear, labeled art.
Trained in graphic design and seasoned making art for television news, Gibbons moved to a Vermont farm and began turning everything around her — maple sugaring, barns, weather — into books; she works from a sugarhouse studio she and her husband built.
