About Rachel Isadora
Rachel Isadora danced professionally with the Boston Ballet before an injury turned her to illustration — a path that gave her books their unusual sense of movement and body-joy. Her Caldecott Honor book Ben's Trumpet remains a classic of visual rhythm.
She drew constantly between rehearsals as a young dancer; when her dance career ended in her twenties, the sketchbooks became the second act.
