Comparing Preschools in Frisco

How we write these, and how to read them

Families touring us usually tour two or three other schools the same week, and they ask us the same question every time: how do we compare? These guides are our answer, written by our teachers, so read them knowing that we are one of the two schools on every page. To keep them honest we follow the same rules for each one:

• Only what can be checked. Facts about the other school come from its own website and its public Texas Health and Human Services licensing record, read on the date shown. Where a school does not publish something, we say "not on the website" rather than guessing.
• Both state records, in full. Every deficiency on both records is quoted in the state’s own words, ours included. Our own record has more paperwork deficiencies than most of the schools we compare with, and each guide says so.
• Reviews as a pattern, with dates. We read every critical Google review, group them by theme, give the years, and quote the owner’s public replies. Individual reviews are unverified; a pattern across years and strangers is worth your attention.
• Credit where it is due. If the other school does something we do not, from longer hours to a chef to published tuition, the guide says so plainly.
• Corrections, promptly. Every guide ends with an invitation to the other school to correct or add context, and we do it when asked.

Reading a Texas child-care record yourself

Every licensed center in Texas has a public page in the state’s Child Care Search. Five things on it matter most: the permit type and whether it carries conditions; serious injuries and injuries from standard violations over five years; the number of employees who left each year, which is the best public measure of staff stability; the deficiency list, where the risk level and the narrative matter far more than the count; and whether the school reports incidents itself. A self-reported incident is a sign of a school that tells the state the truth, not a red flag. Our own record is linked from every guide.
